Graphene masterbatch

Graphene masterbatch

  • What is graphene masterbatch? It is a "pre-mixed pellet" made by uniformly dispersing high-concentration graphene material into plastic, rubber, or chemical fiber substrates (for example PP, PE, PET, PA, etc.) through a special process.

  • Why make it into a "masterbatch"? Graphene nanopowder is extremely fine and very prone to sticking and agglomerating. If the powder is added directly into plastic raw materials, it is difficult to mix evenly and may even create airborne dust causing environmental pollution. After pre-processing it into the "masterbatch" form, downstream manufacturers only need to pour these masterbatch pellets into machines like ordinary plastic pellets, allowing them to easily and uniformly produce graphene composite products with stable quality.

  • Main applications and conferred properties: When plastics or fibers are supplemented with graphene masterbatch, their physical and chemical properties can be greatly improved. Common enhancements include:

    • Conductivity and antistatic: Applied to electronic component packaging and antistatic equipment.

    • Thermal conductivity and heat dissipation: Used in heat-dissipation components and electronic product enclosures (can assist heat dissipation).

    • Enhanced mechanical properties: Improves the hardness, toughness, and wear resistance of plastics or rubber.

    • Functional textiles: Textile mills commonly use graphene masterbatch for spinning, thereby producing clothing or protective gear with far-infrared warming, antibacterial, and antistatic functions.
